Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of Part of the Problem (POTP) at partoftheproblem.com, including video streaming, live streams, the member forum, and paid subscriptions. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What the Service Is

POTP is a subscription video platform for the Part of the Problem podcast. We publish episodes, host live streams, maintain an episode archive, and run a member forum. Some recent episodes are available without a subscription. Access to the full archive, live streams, and the forum depends on your subscription tier. Tier benefits and pricing are listed on the subscribe page and may change over time.

3. Your Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription.
  • Your subscription is tied to the email address you use at checkout. Use the same email for your account, or your access will not work. If you subscribe with one email and sign in with another, contact support so we can straighten it out.
  • Keep your login credentials to yourself. Sharing an account so multiple people can use one subscription is not permitted, and we may terminate accounts that do it.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we will email you and retry the charge. If payment continues to fail, your access ends.
  • We may change subscription pricing. If we change the price of your tier, we will notify you by email before the new price takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

  • You can cancel at any time from your account settings at partoftheproblem.com/settings. No phone calls, no retention hoops.
  • When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
  • Subscriptions may be canceled at any time. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. This is our complete refund policy, and you accept it when you subscribe.

6. Payment Disputes

  • If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us at support@partoftheproblem.com before disputing it with your bank. Most billing problems are fixable in one email.
  • When a charge is disputed with a card issuer, we respond with evidence about the account and the subscription, which may include payment history, account activity, and access records. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  • Filing a chargeback against a charge you authorized, while continuing to use the service, is fraud. We may terminate accounts that do it and refuse future service.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Episodes, live streams, artwork, and other content on POTP are the property of POTP or its licensors and are protected by copyright.
  • Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to stream content, and to download episodes through the download button we provide, for your own offline viewing.
  • What it does not give you is a license to share those files. Do not re-upload, re-stream, redistribute, or publicly perform content anywhere else, whether you streamed it or downloaded it.
  • Do not scrape the site, rip streams by other means, or circumvent access controls. We may terminate accounts that do.

8. The Forum

  • Subscribers get access to the member forum. A forum account is created for you automatically when you subscribe.
  • You own what you write, but by posting you give us permission to display and store it as part of running the forum. Posts are visible to other members and may remain visible after you cancel or delete your account.
  • Do not post anything illegal, do not harass other members, and do not spam. We may remove content and suspend forum access at our discretion.
  • Forum content reflects the views of the members who post it, not of POTP.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. If we terminate your account for a violation, you are not entitled to a refund for the current billing period. You can stop using the service at any time by canceling your subscription.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided as is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Streams drop, servers hiccup, and maintenance happens. We are not liable for content you rely on from the podcast or the forum; it is commentary and entertainment, not professional advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, POTP shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will post the updated terms here and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
